Ever since they welcomed their 1st daughter, Kaavia James Union Wade, into the world through surrogate, the Wades have been on cloud 9. Actress Gabrielle Union and NBA star Dwyane Wade welcomed their baby daughter in prior November.
The duo have been eagerly posting images with their beautiful bundle of happiness for their fans. In fact, Kaavia has her very own Instagram page with over 400,000 followers. On Saturday, the Being Mary Jane star, 46, couldn’t resist sharing.
Kaavia is turned to face the camera, with one hand on her head and the other hiding her baby’s face. She looks so glad with her little mini-me. Clearly, the comments section on this one were blowing up. “oh my god ,” one person wrote.
Shady Baby is growing up so fast, and we love to see it! In an essay adapted from her 2021 book, You Got Anything Stronger? and launched in Time, Gabrielle disclosed that in spite of her diagnosis, she endured another year of “IVF cycles and losses”
because she desperately “wanted the experience of being pregnant”. Although, she did finally accept her doctor’s advice and turned to surrogacy, a plan that was made even more hard due to Dwayne having a baby with another lady one year before they married in 2014.
“It should go without telling that we were not in a great place at the time that kid was conceived,” she wrote. “But we were doing much better when he eventually told me about the pregnancy. To say I was devastated is to pick a word on a low shelf for convenience.”
Gabrielle mentioned: “The experience of Dwyane having a baby so simply—while I was unable to—left my spirit not just broken into pieces but shattered into fine dust scattering in the wind.”
